Packaging Materials Senior Engineer (Packaging Engineering): Leading packaging material initiatives and technical services for U.S. Cleaning product categories with an accent on supplier qualification, manufacturing trials, product quality, sustainability, and supply assurance. Focus on managing packaging projects, performing root-cause analysis and data-driven problem solving, developing specifications, ensuring regulatory compliance, and coordinating cross-functional implementation through production start-up.

Location: Alpharetta, Georgia, USA; hybrid schedule with 3 days per week in the office and 2 days working from home. Up to 35% domestic travel to manufacturing facilities, external manufacturers, and packaging material suppliers is required.

Salary: $90,900–$170,100 in Zone A; $83,400–$155,900 in Zone B; $75,800–$141,700 in Zone C, plus eligibility for incentive plans.

What you will do

  • Lead planning, execution, and implementation of packaging-related technical services deliverables.
  • Manage small- to medium-sized packaging projects, including priorities, action plans, risk mitigation, and production start-up.
  • Lead supplier qualification, specification development, manufacturing trials, Design-to-Value innovation, and packaging change management.
  • Apply hypothesis development, test planning, data analysis, root-cause investigation, and recommendation development to solve technical problems.
  • Maintain packaging material and finished product data in company databases and PLM systems.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, R&D, Manufacturing, Procurement, Commercialization, suppliers, consultants, and manufacturing partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution; Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • At least five years of industrial experience in a consumer products company across manufacturing, technical, packaging, or R&D functions.
  • Packaging materials experience is preferred.
  • Strong technical leadership, collaboration, conflict-resolution, communication, problem-solving, root-cause analysis, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, plan workloads, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills required.
