Maintenance PLC/Automation Technician - 1st Shift (Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Install, monitor, modify, maintain, and troubleshoot complex manufacturing and facilities equipment.
• Repair and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, older computers, and other process-equipment hardware.
• Maintain PLC and operating-system backups and keep accurate equipment maintenance records.
• Perform preventive and reactive maintenance using electrical, electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting techniques.
• Identify equipment improvement opportunities and implement modifications to improve operation.
• Work with Engineering, Production, suppliers, customers, and equipment vendors to resolve complex equipment issues.

Requirements

• Two-year associate degree in electromechanical engineering, automation, industrial maintenance, or equivalent skills and three years of applicable experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Experience with PLCs, VFDs, program uploads and downloads, parameter configuration, and backup creation preferred.
• Background in electrical and electronics, mechanics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and complex equipment troubleshooting.
• Experience using electrical test equipment such as DVMs, amp meters, oscilloscopes, and Meggers.
• Must comply with US export-control requirements, including ITAR, EAR, and OFAC; access to ITAR products and related technical data is restricted to US citizens and US permanent residents.

Nice to have

• Basic Microsoft Windows knowledge.
• Welding experience and ability to operate a mill and lathe.
• Communication and leadership skills.
