What you will do
- Assist senior technicians with installing structured copper and fiber optic cabling systems.
- Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs on telecommunications and network cabling infrastructure.
- Conduct compliance testing and document installations according to DISA and DoD engineering standards.
- Collaborate with Network Infrastructure and Support team members to resolve infrastructure issues.
- Prepare reports and documentation covering cabling installation, maintenance, and compliance.
Requirements
- 3+ years of related telecommunications experience, including 3+ years as a Cable Technician in a DoD environment.
- Knowledge of Building Industry Consulting Services International (BICSI) rules.
- Experience with network testers, copper cable testers, fiber Optical Time Domain Reflectometers (OTDRs), and fiber power meters.
- Active TS/SCI clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline, or equivalent education, technical training, or work experience.
- Certifications for fiber optic cable and CAT6 cable installation.
