Fiber Splicer I

Location: Joplin, Missouri, United States; onsite field work in aerial and underground network environments, with overtime, emergency call-outs, on-call rotations, and occasional travel.

What you will do

• Install, splice, terminate, and test fiber optic cables in aerial and underground environments.
• Troubleshoot and restore fiber optic networks to maintain reliable customer service.
• Use OTDRs, power meters, and related equipment to verify network performance and identify issues.
• Read and maintain fiber records, splice diagrams, construction prints, and project documentation.
• Support fiber construction activities, including cable placement, pole transfers, conduit work, and enclosure installation.
• Maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment while completing work safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1–3 years of broadband industry experience with fiber optic cabling and splicing experience desired.
• Basic knowledge of fiber optic construction, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record; CDL preferred or obtainable if required.
• Ability to interpret construction prints, splice diagrams, and network records, with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work overtime, emergency call-outs, on-call rotations, and occasional travel.
