What you will do
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair structured copper and fiber optic cabling for enterprise voice, data, and network communications.
- Terminate and certify copper and fiber optic installations using OTDRs and other network test equipment.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical wiring and generator power systems supporting IT infrastructure.
- Support infrastructure modernization, network expansions, equipment relocations, and facility upgrades.
- Document installations, cable plant modifications, testing results, technical drawings, labeling, and infrastructure asset records.
- Coordinate with systems engineers, network engineers, systems administrators, and facilities personnel while following safety, quality, and Government installation requirements.
Requirements
- At least two years of professional experience with electrical wiring, generator power systems, fiber optic installation, LAN test equipment, and network and electrical system testing.
- Experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting structured cabling and physical network infrastructure.
- Ability to use cable certification and fiber optic testing equipment, including OTDRs.
- Ability to read technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and installation documentation, with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the security clearance required to work in Government facilities.
Nice to have
- BICSI Information Technology Systems Installer Level 1 certification, or the ability to obtain it within 90 days of Task Order award.
- Experience with U.S. Navy or Department of Defense communications infrastructure.
- Knowledge of TIA/EIA structured cabling standards, communications closets, server rooms, data centers, LAN/WAN installations, grounding, bonding, and cable management.
- Experience supporting secure Government facilities and coordinating infrastructure deployments with network engineering and systems administration teams.
