What you will do

• Complete new customer installations, equipment repairs, and service troubleshooting.
• Diagnose malfunctions across headend, HFC, fiber optic, and home terminal systems.
• Splice and terminate coaxial and fiber optic cables, mount network devices, activate equipment, and test plant performance.
• Read network design maps, verify as-built documentation, conduct field surveys, and prepare maps or drawings for plant extensions.
• Perform underground facility locates and construction maintenance, including repairing damaged plant and power supplies.
• Monitor and repair signal leakage, restore service interruptions, and train technical personnel as directed.

Requirements

• One-year college or technical-school certificate, three to four years of related experience and training, or an equivalent combination.
• Successful completion of the Sparklight Technical Training Center Advanced Technician course within six months of accepting the position.
• Working knowledge of signal-level meters, VOMs, leakage detection equipment, TDRs, OTDRs, and related test equipment.
• Knowledge of FCC, NEC, NESC, OSHA, DOT, and applicable local regulations.
• Valid driver's license issued by the state of employment.
• Availability for variable schedules, on-call work, service interruptions, overtime, weekends, evenings, and holidays.
