Transmission & Distribution Engineer (Oil & Gas)

Location: Fully remote within the United States, or remote/office-based in Lakewood, Colorado. Some field work and 5–25% travel may be required.

Salary: $90,000–$140,000 per year, based on the Denver, Colorado labor market.

What you will do

• Perform detailed electrical power and mechanical system design for industrial oil and gas projects.
• Prepare one-line and three-line diagrams, schematics, grounding designs, equipment selections, wiring diagrams, and conduit and cable sizing and routing.
• Develop conceptual and high-level designs for project bids with limited information or direction.
• Perform transmission and distribution designs in PLSCADD and contribute to CAD and PLSCADD standards.
• Prepare design bases, bills of materials, specifications, and project reports.
• Support QA/QC, review the work of designers and drafters, assist with client communication, and provide technical guidance to junior personnel.

Requirements

• Electrical, civil, or mechanical engineering degree from an ABET-accredited institution.
• At least three years of relevant engineering or design experience, preferably with utilities, cooperatives, municipalities, or oil and gas clients.
• Required proficiency with PLSCADD and proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of power systems, electrical and civil systems in industrial environments, and codes including NEC, NESC, and RUS.
• Must be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States.
• Strong written and verbal command of English required.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer license or certification.
• Experience with AUD.
