Wind Turbine Technician - Power (Wind Energy)

Location: Onsite in Rosamond, California, United States; approximately 10–15% travel to other sites may be required.

Salary: $31.25–$45.50 per hour, depending on experience and location.

hirify.global Power operates wind-powered generation facilities and is hiring a technician to support plant operations and maintenance.

What you will do

• Operate and maintain wind turbines, substations, collection systems, and transmission infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults involving variable-pitch and variable-speed control systems.
• Repair or replace components and perform preventive maintenance according to OEM manuals.
• Collect operational data, prepare reports, and maintain internal controls and documentation.
• Perform retrofits, design modifications, QA/QC activities, and support mechanical and commissioning walk-downs.
• Work around low-, medium-, and high-voltage equipment, including overtime, holidays, weekends, and on-call shifts.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED plus a technical certificate, related experience, wind industry training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with maintenance and electronic testing equipment, diagnostic tools, hand tools, power tools, and hydraulic torque equipment.
• Ability to climb towers up to 100 meters daily and work in nacelles and hubs.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 60 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds; weight must not exceed 285 pounds excluding work equipment.
• Ability to interpret written, oral, diagrammatic, and scheduled instructions, solve practical problems, and work in adverse weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and legal right to work in the United States are required.

Nice to have

• Experience in power plant operations and maintenance.
• Experience with wind or solar plant construction, operation, maintenance, converters, or inverters.
• Experience with high-voltage switching, crane and rigging requirements, and electrical or mechanical work.
• Residence in or near the local Rosamond area.
