Technical Services Technician Level 2 (Western Region)

Location: Full-time on a jobsite in the Western Region; based at San Diego, CA Renewable Group and requiring travel up to 80%.

Salary: $27.18–$33.97 per hour

What you will do

• Perform site testing, preventive and corrective maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting for photovoltaic projects.
• Carry out energized electrical work while enforcing company and industry safety standards.
• Diagnose network, telemetry, fiber-optic, grounding, cabling, and electrical equipment issues.
• Complete accurate maintenance documentation, reports, estimates, and project bid item lists.
• Complete jobs with the assistance of technicians and trainees while coordinating with onsite teams.
• Provide on-call support, including weekends and after-hours situations when required.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without current or future employer sponsorship.
• Ability to work full-time at remote jobsites, travel 80% of the time, and work in extreme weather conditions.
• Valid NFPA 70E safety training certification or equivalent, CPR/First Aid training, confined-space qualifications, and a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, identify and isolate energized electrical sources, recognize hazards, and work safely independently.
• Experience with network and telemetry troubleshooting, fiber-optic cables, electrical testing procedures, computer operation, documentation, and detailed project estimates.

Nice to have

• Substation switch-person training.
• Equipment operator certifications.
• Basic metal fabrication skills.
• Experience with ground-fault locators, fiber-optic testers, IV curve tracers, thermography cameras, high-voltage multimeters, Meggers, oil test sets, and tracker repair tools.
