TL;DR
Command and Control Systems Test Engineer - Mid-Level (Command and Control and Battle Management Systems): Planning, executing, and reporting on tests for command and control systems, air base air defense systems, and tactical data links with an accent on system engineering, radar and sensor integration, and test evaluation. Focus on developing test plans and procedures, collecting and analyzing test data, and producing technical reports for system-of-systems testing.

Location: Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, United States. Full-time onsite role with up to 30% travel to contractor facilities, test sites, and other CONUS and OCONUS locations.

What you will do

  • Plan, execute, and report on Command and Control, battle management, and air base air defense system tests.
  • Develop and manage test plans, procedures, schedules, and technical reports.
  • Configure test environments and support laboratory infrastructure.
  • Review customer requirements and participate in system-of-systems test planning and execution.
  • Evaluate radar sensors, tactical data links, radio networks, and network, compute, and routing equipment.
  • Interface with program offices, military services, joint battle labs, contractors, and field service representatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical field, plus 3–10 years of relevant experience; equivalent experience may substitute for education.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Active Secret Clearance adjudicated within the past five years, with the ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret Clearance.
  • System engineering foundation, familiarity with DoD Joint Fires Coordination systems, and experience with Command and Control or Battle Management Systems.
  • Basic networking knowledge and the ability to communicate and present technical information in writing and verbally.
  • Availability to travel up to 30% and work effectively in a team with minimal supervision.

Nice to have

  • Experience with IP, line-of-sight, and beyond-line-of-sight tactical data links, GPS, radar systems, sensors, and electronic countermeasures.
  • Knowledge of Cisco, Juniper, Microsoft, Linux, HAIPE encryption devices, and related network or compute systems.
  • Familiarity with ABADS-MD, TOC Family of Systems, C-sUAS, ALPS, or MELPS concepts.
  • Security+, CompTIA certifications, and knowledge of DT&E processes and Air Force C2 test methodologies.
  • Experience with data analysis and system application software development concepts.
