Senior Development Assurance Engineer (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Assess existing processes and tools against SAE ARP4754B, identify gaps, and drive continuous improvements.
• Own development assurance documentation, plans, audit plans, and process control plans for future certification programs.
• Partner with Systems Engineering to mature requirements from prototype through production and define a scalable common requirements database.
• Support DO-178C, DO-254, Part 25, and military airworthiness process development, including MIL-HDBK-516 alignment.
• Lead cross-functional teams through complex development assurance solutions and independent audits.
• Train and mentor engineering teams across Autonomy, Air Vehicle Integration, and Flight Test & Operations.

Requirements

• 6–9 years of Development Assurance experience with a bachelor's degree, 4–6 years with a master's degree, or 2–3 years with a PhD in engineering, quality assurance, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience developing, implementing, or auditing processes under SAE ARP4754A/B and SAE ARP4761/A.
• Experience developing and maturing requirements across prototype and production configurations.
• Strong auditing, technical writing, communication, training, and mentoring skills.
• Experience working with the FAA or an equivalent regulatory agency on Part 23, 25, or 29 certification projects, including Part 25 Type Inspection Authorization.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Development Assurance experience with avionics or autonomous flight systems.
• Software Quality Assurance experience and familiarity with DO-178C and DO-254.
• Start-to-finish Supplemental or Amended Type Certificate experience.
• Experience establishing or scaling Development Assurance processes at a growing company.
• Experience with Jama, DOORS, or similar requirements management tools.
