Generation Interconnection Engineer 3

Location: Hybrid in Taylor, Texas; on-site at least 2 days per week, with remote work performed from a Texas residence.

Expected salary: $87,000–$120,000 per year.

What you will do

• Coordinate the integration of generation and energy storage resources from initial GINR or change request application through commercial operations approval.
• Process generation interconnection and full interconnection study applications and perform security screening studies.
• Review and approve reactive studies, FIS scopes and reports, Standard Generation Interconnection Agreements, modeling data, and commissioning plans.
• Collaborate with market participants, system operations, planning, metering, network modeling, and other hirify.global teams to resolve project issues.
• Review commissioning testing data, including AVR/PSS and reactive tests, and complete energization, synchronization, and commissioning checklists.
• Develop automation tools, improve interconnection and modeling processes, and provide training and technical documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• At least 3 years of progressively responsible experience as a power systems engineer or in a similar role for the Engineer 3 level.
• Power systems knowledge and the ability to work with generation interconnection, energy storage, and electric utility processes.
• Ability to communicate effectively, manage time, prioritize work, and work independently.
• Ability to work on-site in Taylor, Texas at least 2 days per week; remote work must be performed from Texas.

Nice to have

• Experience in the electric utility industry.
• Experience with NERC Reliability Standards, hirify.global Protocols, the Planning Guide, and Operating Guides.
