Mechanical Engineering Intern (Flight Simulator Design)

Location: Arlington, Texas, United States; onsite work in an office and manufacturing facility.

What you will do

• Support engineering activities across small- to medium-scale programs and multiple projects.
• Develop parametric CAD models, create engineering drawings, and interpret customer specifications and documentation requirements.
• Investigate technical problems, conduct independent studies and analyses, and provide technical support to suppliers and manufacturing.
• Participate in installations and final sell-offs of flight training devices.
• Coordinate with peers and management to review technical and operational deliverables before customer submission.

Requirements

• Working toward a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Knowledge of fundamental Mechanical Engineering concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, and logical problem-solving ability.
• U.S. citizenship is required due to U.S. Government contract requirements.
• Must be eligible for a DoD Personal Security Clearance.
• Ability to work overtime and shifts, remain on call 24x7 for problem resolution, travel within the continental United States, and meet the role's physical requirements.

Nice to have

• Machine shop experience and familiarity with hand tools.
• Hands-on manufacturing support experience.
• Experience with Model Based Engineering and GD&T.
• Experience with SolidWorks, Creo, or a similar parametric CAD tool.
• Simulation experience.
