TL;DR
Mechanical Engineering Intern (Aerospace) (CAD/MATLAB): Supporting hands-on engineering projects in an aerospace and defense environment with an accent on technical documentation, engineering data analysis, and practical laboratory or workshop assignments. Focus on contributing to ISR and aviation systems, improving engineering processes, and developing solutions within U.S. security-clearance requirements.

Location: Plano, Texas, United States; onsite laboratory and workshop work may be required.

What you will do

  • Contribute to technical engineering projects and complete assigned tasks supporting team objectives.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, reports, and project records.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret technical data to support engineering decisions.
  • Attend planning meetings and support project requirements, timelines, and team goals.
  • Perform hands-on technical work in laboratory or workshop environments and identify process improvements.
  • Participate in mentoring, cross-functional workshops, and company projects.

Requirements

  • Be a sophomore, junior, or senior in college or technical school, with at least six months remaining until graduation after the internship.
  • Be enrolled in an engineering, computer science, or related technical degree program.
  • Demonstrate analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and collaboration skills.
  • Have strong skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required for employment because an active U.S. Security Clearance is required.

Nice to have

  • Previous technical or engineering internship or work experience.
  • Familiarity with the aerospace and defense industry.
  • Basic knowledge of CAD, MATLAB, or other engineering software tools.
  • Microsoft Access skills.
