Robotics Technician (Industrial Automation)

Location: Rockwall, Texas, United States — Channell HQ; onsite manufacturing environment

Pay range: $30–$33 per hour

What you will do

• Maintain and troubleshoot industrial robots, end-of-arm tooling, conveyors, automated work cells, sensors, and control systems.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and basic control system issues, including equipment faults and production downtime.
• Make basic robot and automation program adjustments and assist engineering with system setup, programming changes, and equipment modifications.
• Support integration with molding machines, packaging systems, and PLC-controlled equipment, including vision systems and industrial communication networks.
• Test systems, monitor performance, and support improvements to uptime, cycle time, and reliability.
• Support production through equipment startups, changeovers, recovery, operator training, documentation, and safe maintenance practices.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree or technical certification in Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, Industrial Automation, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2–5 years of experience in robotics, automation, or industrial maintenance.
• Experience with industrial robots such as FANUC, Yaskawa, ABB, or Universal Robots.
• Working knowledge of industrial robotics and automation systems, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, PLC, and HMI troubleshooting.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and ladder logic.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English as required to safely perform job duties.

Nice to have

• PLC troubleshooting experience, preferably with Allen-Bradley systems.
• Experience in plastics manufacturing or a similar industrial environment.
• Familiarity with vision systems and automated inspection equipment.
