Field Service Engineer (Industrial Automation)

Location: Middleton, Wisconsin, United States; travel to customer facilities required, up to 95%.

Salary: $40.00–$52.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, commission, test, and debug automated packaging machinery and robotic systems at customer facilities.
• Provide technical support remotely, by phone, and on-site for electrical, controls, mechanical, and robotic equipment.
• Modify and troubleshoot Allen Bradley PLC and HMI programs, industrial networks, VFDs, servo motors, and I/O devices.
• Train customer operators and technicians on machine setup, operation, changeovers, and maintenance.
• Prepare service, training, expense, and trip reports; document issues and solutions.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Sales, Operations, and Manufacturing, including support for Pre-FAT and FAT activities.

Requirements

• Must be eligible to work in the United States; employment eligibility is verified through E-Verify.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, Industrial Automation, Mechatronics, Robotic Programming, or a related field.
• Experience with industrial automation equipment, electrical troubleshooting, PLC programming, HMI development, and Rockwell Automation software.
• Experience with robotic applications, including programming and vision systems; FANUC experience is preferred.
• Ability to read and mark up electrical schematics and 2D/3D AutoCAD mechanical assembly drawings.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, provide strong customer service, and travel extensively.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical, Ladder Logic, Studio 5000, and FactoryTalk.
• Experience with high-speed assembly machinery, SCADA, gantry systems, six-axis robotics, and FANUC robots.
