TL;DR
Manufacturing Site Chemical Engineer (Chemical Manufacturing): Supporting and improving refrigerant-gas manufacturing processes across synthesis, refining, storage, and shipping operations with an accent on process safety, reliability, quality, and cost. Focus on plant troubleshooting, process hazard analyses, data-based improvement initiatives, and coordinating capital installations and commissioning.

Location: Corpus Christi Plant in Ingleside, Texas, United States; onsite manufacturing facility. Travel is less than 10%, with shift and weekend coverage required as needed.

Salary: $77,644–$121,320 annual base pay, plus a 6% annual bonus target.

What you will do

  • Provide process engineering guidance and troubleshooting support for synthesis, refining, storage, and shipping operations.
  • Monitor process performance using Uptime Software, Aspen Process Explorer, and statistical process control to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Lead and participate in safety, reliability, quality, and process hazard investigations.
  • Support cost and capital projects, including basic data development, economic justification, FEL activities, installation, and commissioning.
  • Perform process tests and implement improvements related to safety, quality, environmental performance, uptime, reliability, and cost.
  • Provide coverage for start-ups, tests, maintenance turnarounds, operator training, and other non-routine plant needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Knowledge of fundamental chemical engineering principles and ability to diagnose technical problems using data-based decisions.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, communicate effectively across organizational levels, and maintain a strong customer focus.
  • Ability to prioritize short-duration deadlines, emergency situations, and multiple priorities while working safely.
  • Ability to wear required PPE, including steel-toe footwear, hard hat, Nomex, eye protection, and respirators.
  • Proficiency with computers, Microsoft applications, Teams, and related systems.

Nice to have

  • 2+ years of experience in a related manufacturing industry or equivalent military experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting with field operations personnel.
  • Root Cause Failure Analysis, Process Safety Management, and hazard analysis experience.
  • Experience applying Lean methodologies to maintenance processes and implementing business systems.
