Process Engineer (Chemical Operations)

What you will do

• Define and update chemical manufacturing processes, standard operating procedures, batch records, and bills of materials.
• Specify functional requirements for new equipment and validate equipment changes and upgrades through testing.
• Design production trials for new products, analyze trial data, and define material specifications, process parameters, and documentation for commercial-scale production.
• Investigate quality issues, determine root causes, and implement cross-functional corrective solutions.
• Generate and assess process improvement proposals involving procedures, equipment, tools, and production methods.
• Collaborate with chemical development, production, maintenance, and environmental, health, and safety teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Three to five years of engineering experience in product development or manufacturing.
• Experience with process characterization and validation tools, including Statistical Process Control and Design of Experiments.
• Direct experience implementing Process Safety Management program elements.
• Ability to use and train others on laboratory equipment for in-process chemical quality control.
• Familiarity with programmable logic controllers and troubleshooting chemical, mechanical, and electrical issues, along with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
