Human Resources Business Partner (Manufacturing)

Location: Full-time onsite in Covington, Virginia, United States; domestic travel of up to 10% required.

What you will do

• Partner with plant leadership to translate business goals into workforce plans and people strategies.
• Use workforce data and insights to identify opportunities, solve problems, and improve performance.
• Advise employees and leaders on fair, consistent, and compliant HR practices and resolve employee relations matters.
• Lead labor relations activities, including grievance handling, contract interpretation, and support for negotiations.
• Coach supervisors on collective bargaining agreement compliance, just-cause principles, and progressive discipline.
• Support performance management, succession planning, leadership development, talent acquisition, and HR process improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field.
• 7+ years of progressive HR Business Partner experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience supporting unionized workforces and navigating complex employee relations issues in a union setting.
• Ability to build trust with hourly union employees and plant leadership, influence leaders, and drive change.
• Experience analyzing workforce data and trends to inform decisions.
• Experience with HR systems; Workday experience is preferred.
