Generator Technician (Generac)

What you will do

• Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance on generators and emergency power supply systems.
• Provide scheduled and emergency service, including after-hours, weekend, and holiday repairs when directed.
• Read operational manuals, electrical schematics, generator literature, connection diagrams, and work orders to complete maintenance and repairs.
• Detect faulty operations and defective materials, then report unusual conditions to the service manager.
• Commission industrial and MPS equipment and prepare detailed work reports in FieldServio within 24 hours.
• Communicate findings with customers, coworkers, and company personnel by phone, email, and in person.

Requirements

• High school diploma and a valid driver license.
• At least four years of experience servicing and troubleshooting Emergency Power Supply Systems.
• Working knowledge of mechanical design, AC/DC circuitry, power generation, wiring schematics, and connection diagrams.
• Experience with diesel or gaseous engines, natural-gas fuel systems, engine maintenance, spark-ignited systems, and transfer switch operations.
• Ability to troubleshoot independently, work with minimal supervision, communicate effectively, and provide detailed reports.
• Ability to work onsite in Denver and in varying weather conditions; the role may require a DOT Medical Card and daily operation of a heavy-duty truck.

Nice to have

• Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Six years of experience servicing and troubleshooting Emergency Power Supply Systems.
