Generator Technician

Location: Baton Rouge, Louisiana, United States; on-site work with off-site equipment and customer service as required

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

What you will do

• Repair, refurbish, maintain, and diagnose engine-driven power generators, with a secondary focus on engine-driven welding equipment.
• Assemble diesel, electric, gas, and propane generator equipment for rental, then test and calibrate machines for rental or sale.
• Replace defective parts and perform preventive maintenance, including identifying and ordering required components.
• Inspect returned generator equipment for proper operation and customer damage.
• Load and unload equipment using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment.
• Document repairs and maintenance, maintain an organized work environment, and service equipment and customers off-site when required.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Valid driver license and good driving record.
• Ability to follow health and safety guidelines and maintain a safe working environment.
• Ability to diagnose and repair generators, replace components, and complete required maintenance.

Nice to have

• Experience repairing generators.
• Knowledge of diesel engines.
• Experience with PLC engine and generator controllers.
