Traveling Field Mechanic III

Location: Alvarado, Texas; field-based with extensive travel and extended stays at active project sites across the designated service area. Employees must report to assigned project locations and remain there for the duration of projects. This is not a daily-drive or local-service position.

What you will do

• Perform servicing, preventive maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on fleet vehicles and equipment.
• Travel to customer project sites and maintain the assigned service vehicle in a clean and professional condition.
• Identify mechanical problems visually and with computer diagnostic equipment, following manufacturer guidelines and company schedules.
• Record time, materials, equipment condition, repairs, repair orders, and weekly timesheets accurately in company software.
• Conduct equipment safety inspections and prepare required safety documentation.
• Work in compliance with DOT, EPA, interstate authority, OSHA, hazardous-material, and other applicable regulations; provide oversight to less experienced mechanics when needed.

Requirements

• At least five years of general heavy truck repair, automotive repair, or equipment repair experience, or four years of experience combined with a completed vocational, technical, or apprenticeship program.
• Ability to operate company vehicles and equipment daily, with the required driving ability and licensing.
• Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, complete daily logs, and collaborate with coworkers.
• Experience using mechanical tools, materials, testing equipment, and basic computer or data-entry systems.
• Knowledge of vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair, safety procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Applicants must already be authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
