Maintenance Mechanic (Heavy Equipment)

Location: Onsite in Huger, South Carolina, with assignments at other Charleston, South Carolina locations within a 20-mile radius

What you will do

• Diagnose and repair passenger vehicles, heavy equipment, and other company property.
• Perform routine maintenance and assist with semi-complex engine overhauls.
• Read manuals, charts, schematics, and blueprints to complete repair work.
• Maintain accurate records so parts and labor time are allocated to the correct equipment.
• Maintain housekeeping and safety standards in and around the shop.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of heavy construction equipment repair experience or demonstrated heavy equipment/diesel repair experience.
• Comprehensive set of personal tools maintained in safe working condition.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to reliably commute to the place of business.
• Understanding of OSHA and EPA standards relevant to the position.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds and work in all weather conditions.
• Ability to work all shifts and weekends, including 12-hour shifts, and maintain certification for required respiratory protective equipment.
