Maintenance Mechanic 2

Location: St. Charles, Illinois, United States; onsite, 2nd Shift.

Compensation: $26.26–$35.93 per hour, with possible overtime, shift differential, call-in, and standby pay.

What you will do

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, audits, repairs, calibrations, testing, and equipment rebuilds.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment failures.
• Maintain and repair production machinery including presses, die cutters, folders, inserters, conveyors, and bindery equipment.
• Interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, operating manuals, and manufacturer specifications to isolate malfunctions.
• Manufacture or reproduce replacement parts using welders, lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and other machine-shop equipment.
• Support operators, facilities maintenance, engineering upgrades, performance improvement projects, and team training.

Requirements

• Four to five years of experience installing, troubleshooting, repairing, overhauling, aligning, testing, and maintaining complex equipment.
• Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, including AC/DC circuit troubleshooting with a multimeter.
• Ability to perform precise alignment, measurement, pressure, flow, clearance, and fit calculations.
• Ability to interpret complex drawings, sketches, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of OSHA, HazMat, Lockout/Tagout, NEC, root cause analysis, and machine-shop techniques.
• High school diploma or GED required; strong mechanical reasoning, communication, problem-solving, and Windows PC skills.
