Regional Underwriting Officer (Property & Casualty)

Location: LAN, Manchester, UK; hybrid arrangement with three days per week in the office and two days at home

What you will do

• Implement and contribute to short- and long-term underwriting strategies for Business Insurance Retail and regionally traded products.
• Act as a technical referral and advisory point for internal underwriting teams and support responsible product development.
• Ensure underwriting controls, cures, audits, monitoring standards, and corrective actions are effectively managed.
• Build broker and client relationships while communicating regional underwriting goals and objectives.
• Lead regional underwriting meetings and analyse local market needs, trends, and competitor information.
• Mentor and coach underwriting staff while collaborating with Risk Control, Claims, Operations, product, and portfolio teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher education level.
• Proven experience leading others at a senior underwriting level.
• Advanced experience in Property & Casualty underwriting is required.
• Advanced skills in organisation, financial acumen, communication, collaboration, presentation, networking, risk selection, and critical and analytical thinking.
• Advanced leadership competencies in strategic planning, change management, decision-making, influencing, developing employees, and building collaborative relationships.
• ACII qualification is required.
