What you will do

• Evaluate and select risks within assigned authority limits to support profitable new business and retention of existing cases.
• Conduct risk assessments, monitor risk trends, and recommend actions to meet business guidelines, profit targets, and performance metrics.
• Consult with sales and service partners on products and plan options that meet customer needs.
• Contribute to policies, procedures, and product development initiatives.
• Serve as a technical resource for junior underwriters and provide developmental feedback.
• Mentor and coach underwriters while influencing organizational change and profitable results.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant business experience.
• Consistent proficiency at the Senior Underwriter level.
• Mastery of product provisions, plan designs, pricing, and contractual benefits.
• Expertise in risk selection, analytical reasoning, creative problem solving, and negotiation.
• Strong communication, organization, prioritization, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a strong commitment to quality and ownership of results.
