Senior Underwriting Consultant (Life & Health)

Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid role

Salary: GBP 56,000–84,000 per year for a full-time role, plus performance-based variable compensation.

What you will do

• Lead high-quality technical underwriting assessments across a diverse Life & Health portfolio.
• Monitor portfolio performance, identify trends, and manage risks and opportunities.
• Translate underwriting insights into clear, commercially compelling client proposals.
• Advise clients at operational and strategic levels on underwriting matters.
• Use portfolio data, market intelligence, and emerging technology trends to develop innovative services.
• Lead and contribute to strategic initiatives, mentor colleagues, and support a future-fit service proposition.

Requirements

• Extensive Life & Health insurance underwriting expertise and a strong record of sound risk selection and portfolio management.
• Deep technical knowledge across a broad range of Life & Health products, with the ability to deliver independent assessments.
• Strong communication skills for explaining technical topics to specialist and non-specialist audiences.
• Experience engaging with senior stakeholders, including relationship management and influencing.
• Analytical ability to interpret portfolio data and convert insights into actionable strategies.
• Experience leading or contributing to strategic projects within an underwriting environment.
