Senior ERISA Attorney

Location: Remote - United States

Salary: $140,000–$200,000 per year, plus potential compensation incentives

What you will do

• Provide strategic ERISA and regulatory guidance on defined benefit, defined contribution, and health and welfare plans.
• Advise clients on plan design, compliance strategies, nondiscrimination testing, fiduciary training, and governance procedures.
• Review plan documents, amendments, summary plan descriptions, participant communications, governmental filings, and corrections.
• Guide clients on mergers and acquisitions, service agreements, contracts, and other complex employee benefit matters.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments and translate their impact into client guidance, internal updates, and training.
• Lead, mentor, and review the work of Legal Team professionals while supporting client engagements, sales, and business development.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree and active membership in good standing of a state bar.
• 15+ years of experience as an ERISA attorney, with deep expertise in retirement plans and applicable regulations.
• Knowledge of DOL, IRS, FINRA, and SEC requirements.
• Ability to interpret and communicate complex technical information clearly to clients and prospects.
• Experience overseeing legal staff, providing mentorship, and managing multiple priorities.
• Strong judgment, problem-solving, collaboration, organization, and stakeholder management skills.
