Senior Counsel - Employment

Location: Remote Flex - North Carolina. The role is primarily virtual, with a few required in-office visits each year; candidates outside the local area may be considered in states listed on the posting.

Salary: $191,153.00 - $305,845.00 annually, plus an annual incentive bonus.

What you will do

• Provide day-to-day employment-law counseling on hiring, performance management, discipline, terminations, accommodations, leave, wage and hour compliance, investigations, and employee relations.
• Advise senior leadership, company officers, subsidiaries, and internal clients on legal risk, business operations, policies, and personnel matters.
• Supervise employment litigation, EEOC charges, administrative complaints, regulatory matters, and responses to information requests.
• Draft and update employment policies, handbooks, procedures, legal memoranda, and regulatory filings.
• Support corporate transactions through due diligence, integration planning, workforce risk assessments, governance, and product or service development.
• Lead a legal practice-area team, oversee outside counsel, train internal stakeholders, and mentor Legal Department colleagues.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• 8+ years of relevant legal experience.
• Deep expertise in labor and employment law, including benefits and compensation.
• Experience with federal and state employment laws, including Title VII, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, ADEA, and state-specific requirements.
• Ability to research and interpret statutory law, case law, administrative rules, and regulations.
• Ability to work remotely from an eligible U.S. state and attend occasional in-office visits.
