TL;DR
Electrical Power Monitoring System Design (EPMS) Engineer (EPMS/data centers): Designing electrical power monitoring systems and control sequences for mission-critical facilities with an accent on reliability, redundancy, system integration, and detailed technical documentation. Focus on developing EPMS architectures, coordinating PLC and electrical-system integrations, validating design deliverables, and reviewing installed systems through site visits.

Location: Hybrid role based in Atlanta, GA; Clifton Park, NY; Dallas, TX; Phoenix, AZ; or Seattle, WA

Base compensation: $90,000–$120,000 per year

What you will do

  • Design EPMS control systems and control sequences for mission-critical facilities.
  • Prepare sequences of operation, network architecture diagrams, points lists, EPMS specifications, and documentation templates.
  • Define integration strategies across EPMS, PLCs, mechanical and electrical systems, and third-party monitoring platforms.
  • Specify control panels, I/O requirements, communication protocols, network architecture, and cabling requirements.
  • Coordinate with equipment manufacturers, electrical engineers, clients, vendors, commissioning agents, and control system integrators.
  • Perform QA/QC reviews and site visits to validate designs, construction progress, and installed conditions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience designing Electrical Power Monitoring Systems, preferably in consulting or mission-critical environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology, or significant equivalent relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of Branch Circuit Monitoring Systems and PLC-based EPMS.
  • Knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, and TCP/IP communication protocols.
  • Experience with Division 25 and Division 26 specifications.
  • Knowledge of electrical distribution equipment, generators, UPS systems, and related monitoring and integration requirements; strong written and verbal communication skills.
