Location: Houston, Texas, United States; hybrid. Travel to field sites and other offices is required, estimated at 20–40%, including overnight stays.

What you will do
- Develop technical scopes, equipment bid specifications, project documents, schedules, and contractor bid packages.
- Select and size compression equipment based on operating conditions to optimize performance and long-term reliability.
- Provide engineering oversight for fuel gas systems, air compressor packages, generator packages, ESD systems, filtration, gas cooling, and recycle systems.
- Evaluate vendor proposals, establish supplier relationships, troubleshoot equipment issues, and assess new technologies.
- Support compression projects, FERC filings, field operations, risk assessments, and infrastructure integrity initiatives.
- Maintain engineering standards and material specifications while supporting safety, regulatory compliance, efficiency, and profitability.
Requirements
- Minimum five years of post-degree experience designing and technically analyzing high-pressure natural gas compressor systems.
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering; candidates with a two-year technical associate degree may be considered with ten years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of thermodynamics, natural gas compression equipment, compressor station layouts, and mechanical design of reciprocating and centrifugal compressors, engines, turbines, and electric motor drives.
- Working knowledge of 49 CFR Part 192, ASME, API, NACE, NEC, OSHA, and other applicable codes and standards.
- Ability to interpret mechanical, civil/structural, and electrical drawings; proficiency with Word and Excel; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel 20–40% to field sites and offices.
Nice to have
- Experience with vendor-supplied compressor sizing software.
- Additional experience in compressor station equipment operation, project management, and technical analysis.
