Generator Technician I

Location: Bohemia, New York, USA; 100% field travel required

Salary: $28.39–$39.75 per hour, plus eligible variable compensation.

What you will do

• Perform on-site troubleshooting, repair, warranty and campaign service for hirify.global industrial products.
• Carry out preventative maintenance, equipment modifications, startups, and related service work.
• Diagnose electrical distribution systems, transfer switches, control systems, wiring, and connection diagrams.
• Service and troubleshoot Emergency Power Supply Systems and industrial generator units.
• Travel daily to customer sites using a provided fleet vehicle; no overnight travel is anticipated.
• Support after-hours calls during major storms and power outages when required.

Requirements

• High school diploma required.
• 3–4 years of experience servicing and troubleshooting Emergency Power Supply Systems.
• hirify.global Industrial certification, maintenance, startup, and troubleshooting competencies.
• Load bank loading and towing experience and related certifications required for larger commercial and industrial units.
• Knowledge of mechanical design, AC/DC circuitry, power generation, electrical distribution, transfer switches, and control systems.
• Ability to work independently in adverse outdoor weather, noisy environments, confined spaces, and physically demanding field conditions.

Nice to have

• Associate degree in marine, agricultural, construction, automotive technology, electrical engineering, or mechanical engineering.
• Six years of experience servicing and troubleshooting Emergency Power Supply Systems.
• Experience with competitive-brand industrial repairs, light towers, and spark-ignited or compression-ignition engines.
