Maintenance Mechanic I/II/III

Location: Knoxville, Tennessee, United States; onsite in a manufacturing environment

What you will do

• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, lubrication, cleaning, and routine repairs on production equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, CNC, and machine control systems according to level.
• Support non-routine maintenance, equipment installation, commissioning, spare-part lookup, and machine diagnostics.
• Record completed work in the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
• Operate cranes and aerial lifts safely and maintain required first aid, CPR, crane, and safety certifications.
• Maintain production areas and follow PPE, housekeeping, and safety procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; Maintenance Mechanic III additionally requires completion of Greenheck’s 10,000-hour Apprenticeship Program.
• Maintenance Mechanic II/III requires 3–5 years of manufacturing maintenance or related experience.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, power transmission, electrical controls, and technical documentation.
• Mechanic III requires strong PLC programming, ladder logic, machine controls, electrical repair, and diagnostics experience.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, manuals, and technical documentation; use hand tools and basic computer systems.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, climb, kneel, bend, pull, and work around machinery, noise, airborne particles, forklifts, cranes, and vibration.

Nice to have

• Technical certifications or an associate degree.
• Manufacturing maintenance experience for Mechanic I.
• Experience with machine commissioning, installation, communications diagnostics, NFPA 70E, and NEC guidelines.
