Lead Generation Interconnection Engineer (Power Systems)

Location: Taylor, Texas, United States; hybrid work with telecommuting permitted up to three days per week from within the State of Texas.

Salary: $189,800–$222,775 per year.

What you will do

• Manage generation and energy storage interconnection from initial application through approval for commercial operations.
• Review and process generation interconnection and full interconnection study applications, scopes, reports, SGIAs, and reactive studies.
• Review modeling data, support generation-resource modeling in NMMS, and evaluate commissioning plans, checklists, and test data including AVR/PSS and reactive tests.
• Perform security screening studies to determine first-contingency incremental transfer capability for interconnection requests.
• Develop automation tools for studies, reviews, and related engineering processes.
• Coordinate with hirify.global departments, market participants, interconnecting entities, resource entities, distribution service providers, and transmission service providers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Systems Engineering.
• At least eight years of experience as a Power System Engineer, Power System Applications Engineer, Operations Engineer, Operations Supervisor, or in a closely related role.
• Required experience in power systems engineering or power systems application development within or for the electric utility industry.
• Knowledge of NERC reliability standards, hirify.global protocols, the hirify.global Planning Guide, and hirify.global Operating Guides.
• Ability to work from or be based within the State of Texas for this hybrid role.
