Senior Risk Control Consultant, Field

Location: Durham, North Carolina, United States; field presence with approximately 20%–50% onsite customer visits, including possible long-distance and overnight travel.

Annual base salary: $104,000–$171,700, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Evaluate complex, all-lines risks across manufacturing, warehouse operations, products liability, multi-location companies, and fleet exposures.
• Conduct field assessments and provide underwriters with detailed knowledge of hazards, controls, management practices, and account differentiation.
• Write technically detailed reports with clear risk assessments and actionable recommendations.
• Identify uncontrolled exposures and influence customers to implement corrective actions and loss-mitigation improvements.
• Partner with Underwriting, Claims, Risk Control Specialists, and Brokers to select, retain, and grow a profitable book of business.
• Provide subject-matter expertise and contribute to higher-level projects affecting the Risk Control organization or hirify.global enterprise.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or graduate degree in environmental health and safety, engineering, construction management, basic sciences, or a related technical field.
• At least seven years of experience in safety, risk control or management, occupational or environmental health and safety, science, engineering, construction, manufacturing, or relevant military work.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to customer sites, including overnight and multi-night trips when required.
• Advanced knowledge of the insurance industry, business acumen, technical aptitude, critical thinking, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Appropriate certification must be held or attainable to meet applicable state-specific requirements.
• Ability to establish credibility, influence business needs, negotiate change, collaborate effectively, and give and receive coaching.

Nice to have

• Recognized certifications such as ASP, CSP, ARM, or CFPS.
• Subject-matter expertise in Fleet, Sprinkler Contracting, Inland Marine, Industrial Hygiene, Human Factors, or Ergonomics.
