Sr. Environmental Health & Safety Specialist

Location: USA - NC - Charlotte; full-time, plant-based position

Salary: $90,600-$124,500 annually

What you will do

• Lead environmental, health, and safety programs covering OSHA, EPA, and state and local regulatory requirements across the plant.
• Maintain OSHA 300 logs, injury and illness metrics, safety reports, corrective action plans, and site EHS data.
• Conduct operational hazard assessments, incident and workers’ compensation investigations, inspections, and Job Safety Analyses.
• Develop and deliver OSHA compliance, first-aid responder, operational hazard, and new-hire safety training.
• Manage site programs for hazardous materials and SDS, PPE, machine guarding, LOTO, hearing conservation, fire safety, hot work, and sprinkler requirements.
• Partner with engineering, Quality, Sanitation, Maintenance, management, contractors, vendors, auditors, and regulatory agencies to embed EHS controls into plant operations and projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• At least five years of experience in a safety-related manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
• Ability to use environmental testing monitors and instruments and apply arithmetic and statistics.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports and train personnel.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision across the Charlotte plant.

Nice to have

• ASP or CSP certification.
• Food manufacturing experience.
• Advanced computer knowledge and skills.
