Automation Technician (Manufacturing)

Location: DYMC Dayton Mix Center, Dayton, United States. On-site work with rotating 12-hour shifts in a facility operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Starting pay: $22.95/hour, plus an additional shift adder depending on the assigned shift.

What you will do

• Maintain and troubleshoot automated equipment, including autonomous robots used for case, layer, and pallet movement.
• Perform preventive maintenance, calibration, repairs, and equipment monitoring.
• Diagnose mechanical and system issues, eliminate defects, and reduce equipment downtime.
• Analyze equipment trends and technical data to identify issues proactively.
• Implement continuous improvement projects and develop processes or designs to improve equipment-area performance.
• Build technical skills in other employees and collaborate with warehouse operations teams.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and at least two years of technical experience in manufacturing or a similar industry.
• Applied mechanical skills in an industrial environment, including knowledge of engines, pumps, compressors, conveyors, gears, bearings, and related components.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and precision instruments for assembly, measurement, alignment, and testing.
• Knowledge of system integration, automation, control mechanisms, and connections with electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic systems.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting, problem-solving, issue-resolution, and root-cause-analysis skills, along with teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• Immigration sponsorship is not available; participation in the required U.S. employment eligibility process applies.

• Rotating 2-2-3 biweekly schedule with day shifts from 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. or night shifts from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.
• Shift assignments depend on business needs and may not match the preferred shift.
• Overtime may be required on weekends and holidays.
• Technicians are expected to remain in the ALPS department for at least 18 months before becoming eligible for roles in alternate departments.
