Maintenance Tech I (Automation & Robotics)

Location: Prattville, Alabama, United States; onsite role with travel of up to 10% within and outside the state

Salary: $23.50–$34.00 hourly

What you will do

• Set up, adjust, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair conveyors, automation, robotics, and ancillary equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance, routine inspections, equipment testing, and corrective actions.
• Troubleshoot out-of-service equipment, support lower-level technicians, and escalate complex issues when needed.
• Document maintenance activities in CMMS and ticketing systems and maintain facility operating logs.
• Perform root cause analysis of major downtime events and investigate production delays, defects, and spoilage.
• Complete facility and building maintenance projects, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, door, lighting, and furniture work.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience repairing and maintaining conveyor, automation, or robotics equipment.
• Fundamental understanding of machinery and equipment, with basic proficiency in computer software including Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to work with inputs, outputs, and PLC logic systems and troubleshoot these systems.
• Ability to stand for 8–12 hours, work up to 6 days per week, lift up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 75 pounds occasionally, and work at heights, on ladders, and in other physically demanding positions.
• Willingness to follow Lockout/Tagout, Arc Flash, PPE, and other safety procedures; operate material-handling equipment; work overtime; and take on-call requests.

Nice to have

• Associate degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, HVAC, or an equivalent field.
• At least 3 years of building maintenance experience in a facility larger than 75,000 square feet.
