Maintenance Technician (Automation & Robotics)

Location: Hartland, Wisconsin, United States; onsite role with rotating 12-hour AM or PM shifts and up to 10% business travel.

Salary: $26.25–$38.00 per hour. Sign-on bonus: $6,500.

What you will do

• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on conveyors, automation, robotics, and ancillary production equipment.
• Diagnose equipment failures, resolve issues, document maintenance activities in CMMS and ticketing systems, and maintain operating logs.
• Act as an escalation point for lower-level technicians and collaborate with maintenance mechanics and leadership.
• Perform root cause analysis for major downtime events and implement corrective actions to improve production reliability.
• Support facility and building maintenance projects, including plumbing, carpentry, HVAC-related logs, doors, lighting, and ceiling repairs.
• Assemble and test equipment, analyze production delays and spoilage causes, and verify that corrective actions resolve malfunctions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience repairing and maintaining conveyor, automation, or robotics equipment.
• Understanding of machinery and equipment, PLC logic systems, inputs and outputs, and related troubleshooting.
• Basic proficiency with computer software, including Microsoft Excel, and accurate technical documentation.
• Ability to furnish necessary hand tools, operate material-handling equipment, work at heights, and lift up to 50 pounds frequently and 75 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts, overtime, on-call requests, and follow Lockout/Tagout, Arc Flash, PPE, and other safety procedures.

Nice to have

• Associate degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or HVAC.
• Apprenticeship completion or current trade certification.
• At least 3 years of building-maintenance experience in a facility larger than 75,000 square feet.
