Survey Party Chief

Location: Phoenix, Arizona, United States; hybrid work between the Phoenix Downtown office and field project locations.

What you will do

• Perform field surveying and lead survey crews on transportation construction projects.
• Establish horizontal and vertical control, locate monuments, set control points, and prepare aerial mapping targets.
• Direct surveying for bridges, overpasses, underpasses, and roadway structures, preferably on ADOT projects.
• Verify construction locations against design plans and interpret plans for contractors and project staff.
• Prepare survey books, maps, sketches, annotated photos, field notes, and control-point descriptions.
• Maintain surveying equipment and vehicles, oversee calibration, traffic control, safety, and crew accuracy.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of field surveying experience or LSIT status.
• NSPS CST Level III certification, RLS, or NICET Level III certification.
• Strong heavy construction staking and layout experience for transportation structures.
• Proficiency with robotic and conventional total stations, GPS/GNSS systems, digital and automatic levels, and data collectors.
• Accurate data entry and strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in office and field environments, including occasional exposure to heat, weather, noise, hazards, and physical activity.
