Survey Crew Chief

Salary: USD $25.00–$35.00 per hour

What you will do

• Conduct land surveys, construction staking, and field data collection assignments.
• Operate, adjust, and maintain levels, transits, theodolites, electronic measuring devices, total stations, and electronic data collection systems.
• Prepare field sketches, drawings, level notes, and other project documentation according to survey standards.
• Assemble and inspect equipment, load required instruments, and ensure batteries are charged for upcoming assignments.
• Perform surveying calculations, interpret plans and specifications, and identify basic measurement errors.
• Lead field activities while maintaining client relations, completing assigned work, and following safety and PPE requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum 7–10 years of experience as a Crew Leader or Party Chief; the posting also lists five or more years of relevant experience.
• Required experience with construction staking and data collection systems.
• Basic GPS operations and proficiency with a Robotic Total Station.
• Experience with Trimble or similar software, commercial construction, survey technology, and basic civil engineering concepts.
• Strong surveying calculation, communication, interpersonal, decision-making, collaboration, and client-service skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license; surveying license or LSIT is listed.
