Location: Sacramento, California, United States; onsite at 4655 Fruitridge Road (Tribune-KTXL)

Salary: $28.85+/hour, commensurate with experience and skill level.

What you will do

• Report broadcast news stories, including breaking news, severe weather, and developing events.
• Enterprise relevant, distinctive, broad-appeal stories and apply an investigative mindset to daily reporting.
• Research topics, vet tips, build source networks, and gather information for broadcast and publication.
• Arrange and conduct interviews, shoot video, and edit packages, voiceovers, and sound bites.
• Review copy for accuracy, style, grammar, and editorial compliance.
• Engage viewers through social media and participate in public events and community initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or a related field, or equivalent education and work experience.
• Fluency in English required.
• At least three years of news reporting experience, depending on market size.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to ad-lib when required.
• Superior on-air presence, strong social media proficiency, and knowledge of video cameras, editing equipment, and newsroom computer systems.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record; ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, multitask, and work any shift.
