KVDA News Internship

Location: Onsite at the station in San Antonio, Texas, United States

Compensation: up to USD 15 per hour

What you will do

• Participate in daily planning meetings and contribute ideas for Telemundo 60 KVDA news programming.
• Gain hands-on experience in reporting, producing, assignment-desk operations, and social video production.
• Monitor websites and social media to identify breaking news, sources, story leads, trends, and competitive intelligence.
• Write news segments and website articles using AP Style, and coordinate with reporters, meteorologists, and other newsroom staff.
• Cut video from newscasts, add metadata, and publish content to social media, the website, and the app.
• Help coordinate guests, maintain news assignments, answer calls, and pitch content ideas for new platforms.

Requirements

• Active enrollment in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution throughout the internship, with documentation of degree progress.
• Current sophomore standing or above, with at least 30 credits.
• Authorization to work in the United States without hirify.global visa sponsorship.
• Willingness to work onsite at the San Antonio station.
• Fluency in written and verbal Spanish and English.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, creative, organizational, presentation, and project management skills.

Nice to have

• Major in Journalism, Communications, or a similar field.
• Familiarity with Premiere, Photoshop, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, or WordPress.
• Interest in television, streaming, or digital industries.
• Knowledge of AP Style and newswriting.
