Location: El Segundo, California, United States; hybrid work with office attendance 2–3 times per week

What you will do
- Edit and culturalize translated in-game text and voiceover scripts for a Western audience.
- Fix in-game text bugs and typos and contribute to discussions about text quality and style.
- Create and maintain style guides, NPC documents, story bibles, process guides, proper noun pages, Q’s documents, and QA notes.
- Guide the style direction of assigned games in collaboration with project managers and copy-editing leads.
- Track copy-editing progress, distribute work among supporting editors, verify task completion, and escalate project risks.
- Perform same-day copy editing, maintain termbase consistency, work with CAT and text tools, and conduct localization QA when needed.
Requirements
- 2–3 years of game-related work experience.
- 3–5 years of professional writing experience.
- Excellent grammar and copy-editing skills with familiarity with the CMoS.
- Ability to edit according to established voices and styles while preserving the source material’s vision.
- Strong written and verbal communication, attention to detail, prioritization, multitasking, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
- Ability to work in a hybrid model from the El Segundo, California office 2–3 days per week.
Nice to have
- Bachelor’s degree in English or a creative writing background.
- Previous game localization experience.
- Experience editing game strings with codes, localization QA testing, and text or CAT tools.
- Experience editing voiceover scripts and attending voiceover sessions.
- Experience playing anime-style character-collecting mobile games such as Girls Frontline and Azur Lane.
