What you will do

• Edit and culturalize translated in-game text and voiceover scripts to match established voices and styles for a western audience.
• Fix in-game text bugs and typos and contribute to discussions about text issues in hirify.global games.
• Create and update localization documents (style guides, NPC documents, story bibles, process guides, proper noun pages, QA notes, and related materials).
• Lead style direction for assigned games by initiating style discussions with the project manager and copy editing lead.
• Own copy-editing execution for assigned games by tracking editing progress, coordinating work among editors, and escalating risks or obstacles to the project manager.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of game-related work experience.
• 3–5 years of professional writing experience.
• Excellent grammar and copy-editing skills.
• Familiarity with CMoS.
• Ability to edit to specific established voices and styles while accurately conveying the source material.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with close attention to detail.

Nice to have

• Previous game localization experience.
• Experience editing game strings with codes, localization QA testing, and text tools/CAT tools.
• Experience editing voiceover scripts and attending voiceover sessions.
• Bachelor’s degree in English and/or a creative writing background.
