TL;DR
Mid-Level Mechanical Engineer (Data Centers) (HVAC/Revit): Executing mechanical design for greenfield and brownfield data centers, fit-out packages, campus planning, feasibility studies, and system calculations with an accent on HVAC systems, airside and hydronic calculations, and Revit-based documentation. Focus on coordinating multidisciplinary design teams, leading smaller projects, reviewing construction deliverables, and mentoring junior engineers and designers.

Location: Initially remote, transitioning to hybrid; listed locations include Atlanta, Georgia; Clifton Park, New York; Phoenix, Arizona; and Seattle, Washington. Future offices are planned in the Austin and Dallas–Fort Worth metro areas.

Salary: $90,000–$225,000 base compensation annually.

What you will do

  • Execute mechanical design for greenfield and brownfield data centers, hyperscale and enterprise fit-outs, campus planning, feasibility studies, and system calculations.
  • Use Autodesk Revit to produce detailed design plans and specifications for permitting and construction.
  • Perform airside and hydronic calculations, develop airflow and hydronic diagrams, and select and specify HVAC equipment.
  • Coordinate mechanical work with electrical, telecommunications, fire protection, plumbing, architectural, civil, and structural disciplines.
  • Lead smaller projects and coordinate junior engineers, designers, modelers, and small project teams.
  • Support construction administration through submittal and shop drawing reviews, site observations, existing-condition surveys, field work, and punch lists.

Requirements

  • Four-year degree in mechanical engineering or architectural engineering with a mechanical focus; relevant two-year or MET degrees with experience may be considered.
  • At least four years of facility HVAC design experience, especially using Autodesk Revit for drawing development.
  • Experience with larger industrial and commercial buildings and the construction process from schematic design through construction administration.
  • Experience leading small mechanical design teams and communicating with clients and multidisciplinary design leads.
  • Knowledge of local and national construction codes, project specifications, and Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams.
  • Ability to travel to project sites approximately 10–20% of the time.

Nice to have

  • Mission-critical facility or data center design experience.
  • Experience with Procore and Autodesk Construction Cloud.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical system controls.
  • Engineer-in-Training or Professional Engineer certification.
