Senior Mechanical Engineer (Mission Critical)

Location: Austin, Charlotte, Chicago, Cleveland, Columbus, Dallas, Des Moines, Durham, Fort Worth, Houston, Lincoln, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York, Omaha, Orlando, Overland Park, Phoenix, Portland, Seattle, or Washington, D.C., United States. Four days per week are worked in the office, with flexibility to work elsewhere on Fridays.

Salary: $84,700–$144,430 USD annually, based on location, experience, and skills.

What you will do

• Design, coordinate, and implement mechanical systems for data centers, laboratories, clean rooms, and critical infrastructure facilities.
• Develop efficient and scalable HVAC and cooling solutions with strict reliability and redundancy requirements.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, clients, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Create and coordinate project documents using Revit and perform mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection calculations with code research.
• Write and review specifications, shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals.
• Conduct site visits and manage mechanical or interdisciplinary project teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in an MEP or integrated design firm working on complex commercial or public projects.
• 5+ years of experience designing data center systems.
• Proven experience designing HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection building systems.
• Working knowledge of design and construction processes, BIM workflows, and Autodesk Revit MEP.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer license.
• LEED Accredited Professional certification or experience with LEED and other green rating systems.
• Experience and interest in sustainable building design.
