TL;DR
Data Center - VCDC (CRAH) Submittal Engineer - Mechanical (HVAC): Supporting mechanical engineering and order execution for airside data center computer room air handler products with an accent on customer-specific design, BOM development, manufacturing release, and field support. Focus on resolving mechanical design issues, applying DFM principles, validating system performance, and driving quality and cost improvements.

Location: Lexington, Kentucky, United States. Work onsite Monday through Thursday; choose the work location on Fridays based on business needs.

Annual base salary: $52,300–$107,400.

What you will do

  • Support mechanical engineering for the Airside Data Center Computer Room Air Handler (VCDC) Pod.
  • Process customer orders through bid support, submittal generation, order release, BOM development, and model generation.
  • Develop and review mechanical designs, drawings, specifications, and product documentation for configured customer orders.
  • Coordinate with electrical, design, operations, manufacturing, quality, product management, and lab engineering teams.
  • Resolve production and field issues, perform root cause analysis, and support corrective actions.
  • Participate in risk assessments, design reviews, witness test readiness, validation, design improvements, and cost and margin initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical systems, product documentation, bills of material, and engineering drawing and modeling processes.
  • Strong analytical, technical, problem-solving, communication, ownership, and accountability skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across engineering, design, operations, and manufacturing teams and manage concurrent assignments.
  • Ability to work onsite Monday through Thursday in Lexington, Kentucky.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

Nice to have

  • Experience in design engineering, product engineering, or mechanical engineering support.
  • Experience with configured-to-order or engineered-to-order products.
  • Experience in HVAC, air handling equipment, or related engineered product environments.
