Senior Network Engineer (Cisco/Fortinet)

Location: Columbia, Maryland (onsite). Travel as needed.

Salary: $145,000–$165,000 per year.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain secure network architectures using Cisco routing, switching, ISE, and Fortinet FortiGate solutions.
• Engineer and support classified and unclassified environments, including NIPR, SIPR, JWICS, and related mission networks.
• Implement and maintain 802.1X compliance platforms, Cross Domain Solutions, and Comply-to-Connect architectures.
• Perform network hardening, vulnerability remediation, continuous monitoring, and RMF control implementation.
• Maintain network diagrams, standard operating procedures, STIG checklists, POA&Ms, and other security documentation.
• Troubleshoot complex multi-vendor network and security issues and support audits, inspections, and ATO activities.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret security clearance required; TS/SCI is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Network Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 8 years of network engineering experience in DoD/DoW or classified environments.
• Deep expertise in Cisco routing and switching, including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, and MPLS, plus Fortinet FortiGate, FortiOS, VPNs, and Security Fabric.
• Experience with DISA STIG compliance, RMF, DCSA accreditation standards, DISA security requirements, and accreditation processes.
• Active DoD 8140-compliant industry and environment certifications, such as Security+ CE, CISSP, or at least CCNP.

Nice to have

• CCIE Enterprise or Security certification.
• Fortinet NSE 4–7 certifications.
• Project management experience and experience briefing executive leadership.
• Experience supporting Cross Domain Solutions programs and cloud-based DoD environments such as Azure Government or Azure Secret.
