Senior Network Engineer (Cisco/Fortinet)

Location: Las Vegas, Nevada, United States; periodic physical smart-hands support and participation in an on-call rotation are required.

What you will do

• Own network projects from planning and technical design through implementation, validation, documentation, and operational handoff.
• Design, deploy, scale, and optimize enterprise network infrastructure across data centers, remote offices, and critical business services.
• Support the global WAN, including Fortinet SD-WAN, site-to-site VPN, and point-to-point connectivity.
• Lead network upgrades, migrations, maintenance, incident troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and permanent corrective actions.
• Develop technical proposals and network standards using operational data, business requirements, performance metrics, and scalability considerations.
• Mentor engineers, review designs and changes, collaborate with stakeholders, and provide periodic physical support such as hardware swaps and cabling.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional experience in network engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Extensive experience designing, implementing, and troubleshooting enterprise Layer 2/Layer 3 networks using Cisco Catalyst and Nexus platforms.
• Experience with enterprise security platforms including Fortinet, Cisco Firepower/ASA, Palo Alto, or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, VRF, VLANs, STP, LACP/EtherChannel, VPC, switch stacking, ACLs, NAT, VPNs, TACACS+, and Cisco ISE or equivalent.
• Experience with high-availability network design, resilient architectures, and enterprise data center networking.
• Ability to lead technical projects, mentor engineers, communicate clearly, manage competing priorities, and participate in on-call and occasional off-hours work.

Nice to have

• CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent experience.
• Linux/Unix, Python, Ansible, APIs, or network automation experience.
• Experience with AI-assisted engineering, agentic workflows, monitoring, observability, configuration management, or A10 load balancers.
