TL;DR
Water Lead Designer - Project Manager (Stormwater/Water & Wastewater Engineering): Leading the planning, design, and delivery of municipal water infrastructure projects with an accent on technical oversight, project management, and client coordination. Focus on hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, water and wastewater conveyance systems, regulatory compliance, construction support, and mentoring engineering teams.

Location: Draper, Utah, United States; hybrid work with office duties and project site visits

Salary: $120,000–$160,000 per year, dependent on experience

What you will do

  • Lead the planning, design, and delivery of municipal stormwater, drainage, water, and wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, staffing, risks, and contractual deliverables.
  • Serve as the primary contact for clients, agencies, and stakeholders, and support proposals and business development.
  • Provide senior technical oversight, review plans and specifications, and prepare construction cost estimates.
  • Coordinate with roadway, structural, geotechnical, and utility disciplines and support construction administration, RFIs, submittals, and field coordination.
  • Mentor engineers and designers while maintaining quality-control standards.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in stormwater, water and wastewater, or water resources engineering.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, Construction Management, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • Technical experience in hydrology, hydraulics, drainage, or municipal water and wastewater infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in OpenRoads, Civil 3D, and/or AutoCAD; OpenRoads is preferred and training is available.
  • Ability to lead teams, communicate with clients, manage projects, and coordinate occasional site work in changing environmental conditions.

Nice to have

  • Experience with HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, StormCAD, or similar tools.
  • FEMA floodplain mapping and agency coordination experience.
  • UDOT or Mountain West municipal project experience.
